Sixty years of polka happiness is what Alex "LEFTY" Truszkowski brought to the polka industry. Alex "Lefty" Truszkowski, accordian player is a pioneer in the polka field. He was a self-made man, born and raised in Warrior Run. He attended polish schools and spoke the language fluently. He added many polish lyrics to his polkas. The number one Polka Bandleader to have a national tv polka show. "Lefty" was an accordian instructor who was instrumental in teaching young boys and girls many polkas we still enjoy playing today. Pupils of "Lefty" performed annually during the summer and at Polish Veterans Organizations and Charitable Organizations. Lefty's polka band "Lefty and the Polka Chaps" was the best around. No wedding was complete without "Lefty and His Accordian"! His recordings included the ever popular "Christmas Tree in Heaven", a holiday favorite that was dedicated to mom and dad. "Lefty" was a bandleader, record producer, vocalist, accordianist, polish translator who lit up the room with his unique personality. Another favorite hit was "Anthracite Polka" which echoed from within just about every bar and grill in town. He was a great husband, father and grandfather. A person who would always place family first."Lefty" was so proud of his polish heritage that he gave his life to the polka industry, polish community, and the polka people..
